Miss America Pageant

 

Miss Wisconsin, Laura Kaeppeler from Kenosha, Wisconsin, won Miss America on Saturday, January 14^th. She went to St. Joseph High school and then onto Carthage College.

For her campaign she didn’t know what to do. She wanted to show kids that this is possible for anyone and that kids with a parent in jail are not alone. After she won she said, "There are many of you out there, and I was one of them, but it doesn't have to define you," Kaeppeler told The Press after winning the crown and the scholarship on Saturday night. Now she is going around talking to different groups. She majored in music and vocal performance which helped her with her talent when she sang opera.
